I enjoyed creating this song because it was different from what we usually do. This song was created using samples from a classroom from a school. When going into the project, I wanted to take a happy approach. I'm glad I could add some nice keys that complimented very nicely with the trumpets I added which had sudden hits. Hope you enjoyed listening as well. :))
This project was pretty cool as well. It took some creativity to pick out pictures to go with the music. The process was interesting because first we created the beat and then we had to find pictures and then create a slideshow together. The music played over the slide show which intended to give an atmospheric vibe
This track was solely based on simplicity. You were supposed to use chords, drums, bass and a melody to make a song. I had the most fun with this track because it was a challenge to use only simple things in the track and no extra bells and whistles that make a track really crazy. There were 4 basics needed to produce the track. Usually tracks produced have lots of different sounds, effects, samples, etc. and using only basics was very refreshing and took some brain power.
The track above was quite fun to make if you ask me. Me and my classmate had to create a project, and we decided to put our own twist onto it. We chose to lay our vocals and rap over the track. I enjoy making things that have an entire process behind them. From creating loops, laying them down, mixing & mastering them, then rapping on top of it. I hope I can do more things like this in the future because it is my favorite type of thing to do in music and music technology.
The Alchemy project was really fun because this was the first time in a while we got to use plug ins as our main source of creating music on the computer. We used a chord sequence on the keyboards where we held three chords at a time to create a cool, fuller sound. This was really fun because it was entirely MIDI. I tried using looperman to find a cool effect but that did not work, so I did it old school.
This project was the Chariots of Fire remix which was where as a class we individually were asked to take bits and pieces to create a modern twist on the classic orchestrated piece. I tried keeping it very simple with about 4 different sounds which you can hear in the track above. The process was quite fun because we inserted the actual song into Ableton and then recorded the keys on MIDI as it played in the background.
We were allowed to take a speech of a famous impactful individual and were allowed to add some sort of chord progression and melody. This was very fun for the fact that I was able to take one of my famous artists, Chief Keef and incorporate that into my music tech project. This made me feel free for the fact that I had no creative restriction. Hope you guys enjoy!
